What wakomi reads today.

Honesty about coverage is part of the product. This page lists the document kinds that get the full careful reading right now — and explains the floor that every other document gets.

catalogue as implemented ·

The floor: every document, read

Unknown never means unreadable. When wakomi doesn’t recognise a document, it says so plainly — and still hands you what it could read: the issuer, the kind of document, amounts, dates and reference numbers, each labelled by how clearly it was read, and labelled as unverified.

This matters because Japanese administrative paper varies by municipality and year. A tool that only worked on documents it had seen before would fail exactly when you need it most.

The full careful reading

These document kinds have been studied against real paper and official publications. For them, wakomi explains what the document is, who sends it, what happens next, and links the official source behind every confident claim.

How coverage grows

A guide examined under a magnifying glass, with labelled readings beside a cup of tea

The careful way. Each new document kind is added only after being studied against real examples and the official publication that fixes its shape — a statute, a national specification, or agency guidance. wakomi encodes only what a published instrument fixes; everything that varies locally is versioned data, updated without an app release.
